Breakfast and its Important facts

Posted Sept. 7, 2014

There are various theories about the importance of breakfast. Some of the school of thoughts believes in good heavy breakfast.

Some believes  that have breakfast like kings and have dinner like poor people.

I was working in TB hospital and our medical superintendent advised us on our first day to have good breakfast before coming to hospital.

His hypothesis was that morning breakfast improves immunity and protect from getting Tuberculosis.

Now there are conflicting reports for breakfast and one of the report is that desire to lose weight  is one of the most frequently cited reasons for skipping breakfast. But many observational studies have found that people who skip breakfast are more likely to be overweight. It is believed that people who skip breakfast missing  calories in the morning , eat more  at lunch or take more snakes all day.

DR. Krista Casazza, PhD, RD disagree and he believes that skipping breakfast does not influence the intake and calories.

Cornell University researchers in Physiology & Behavior in 2013 found that college students ate about 145 calories more at lunch when they skip breakfast.

But if we consider that their breakfasts averaged about 625 calories, skipping it still resulted in a savings of about 450 calories by day’s end, according to the study

Nature and Colors

Posted Aug. 28, 2014

The natural colors of the flowers are interesting and miracle of nature.

All these beautiful colors of the flowers influence our mood and even health by giving soothing effects to our mind.

People always admire the beautiful colors of flowers but rarely does anyone know the perfect science that goes into the color production of one of the earth’s greatest natural beauties. The reason a flower has color is the same reason a person may be born with brown or blond hair, possess blue or green eyes, dress in colorful clothing or make up of the ladies.

The color of flowers, such as the red in Roses  and yellow in marigolds, are found in pigments that are decided upon in the hereditary genome of the plant. Flower colors of red, pink, blue and purple come mainly from the pigments called , which are in Anthocyanins  the class of chemicals called Flavanoids, gives plants their color. Other pigments are carotenoids, found in tomatoes and carrots, that provide yellow, red and orange in the plastids. Chlorophyll is the most well known pigment,

I am going to present you some of the beautiful colors of the flowers.

Enjoy the different colors of flowers .

Marriages in Pakistan ,and Medical aspects

Posted Aug. 3, 2014

Pakistani marriages
In Pakistan mostly the the marriages are arranged marriages. This percentages is more than 80 %. Even sometime the couple see each other on their wedding.
For successful marriages there is need for the work up of both the couple.
I think and suggest that should be premarital screening of boy and girl.
The work up of boys includes :
1. Screening for viral markers like hepatitis B and C.
2. Screening for tuberculosis .
3. Must have semen analysis report .
4. Blood grouping .
The work up of girl includes :
1. Screening for hepatitis B and C .
2. Screening for tuberculosis .
3. Blood grouping .
4. Must have work up for fertility .
Even this work up may be mandatory by the law. This work up will decrease the number of failure of the marriages.
After Medical check up then both have counseling for marriage which will includes :
1. Boy should be asked for reason to marry. He should satisfy that he is mentally prepared for the marriage.
2. He should be asked how he will look after his wife . How he will fulfill the needs for marital life and his wife.
3.He should be advised to respect the parents and close relatives of wife.
3. Girl should have training how she is going to run the house.
4. Girl should have training to look after the kitchen .
5.She should be taught the importance of husband parents and his other close relations.
Post marital training of both husband and wife should be done and this traning will includes “how to look after the children”
This training is very important for the happy couple. This will consist of two phases.

  1. Phase one is from birth of baby to preschool period.
  2. Phase two is school period

.These both phases are also very important for the normal upbringing of the baby.
